Season's greeting from Tzu Chi
A lady in the grey top dabs at her tears, worried that she and her gardener husband cannot provide for their six children. Even with social welfare, the family still struggles to make ends meet. Today, the charity group from Taiwan is here to help.
60 needy students receive supplies
Serving the needy in the community, Southern Los Angeles Tzu Chi volunteers carry out winter aid distributions in six different schools. A total of 60 students from low-income families each receive blankets, a cash card to the value of 100 US dollars, chocolates, Jing Si aphorisms and other daily necessities.
Continuing the cycle of giving
Tzu Chi has brought an array of gifts for these financially-stricken families to wish them a merry Christmas. Many of the recipients are also taking a bamboo coin bank home, to save what they can to continue the cycle of giving.
