
On July 6, the foundation set up a central relief coordination center in Hualien, its headquarters, and regional relief coordination centers around Taiwan. Volunteers prepared relief supplies, visited care recipients, and provided foldable beds and food for evacuees.
At 5:50 a.m. on Friday July 8, Typhoon Nepartak made landfall at Taitung's Taimali township, on the southeast coast of Taiwan, bringing torrential rain and strong winds.

Tzu Chi volunteers in other parts of Taiwan also began relief efforts.
