Torrential Rain Causes Flooding in Parts of Taiwan

E-mail Print PDF
According to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB), brought by a hovering front and southwesterly airstream, many parts of Taiwan will be affected by heavy rain or extremely torrential rain from June 1 to 5. Flooding had been reported in many areas in northern Taiwan; a bridge in Jinshan district was badly damaged.

Tzu Chi has set up its central relief coordination center in monitoring most current situations and preparing for relief act if needed. Families in mountain areas of Northern Taiwan have been evacuated for precaution. In Tamsui District, Tzu Chi volunteers began to visit homes of care recipients after the rain slowed down.

CWB has reported that another heavy rain is expected. Please be on high alert and stay safe.
