Bao Mingtang and Ba Lianyu were devoted volunteers at a foster home in Pingtung county. Last August the typhoon which devastated the south of Taiwan destroyed their home. They could not believe that they who were helping others were also in need of help. Now the foundation is building them a new home, in the Changzhi Da Ai (Great Love) community. “We had never thought that there would be a day when we needed help,” said Bao. “The love of the Tzu Chi volunteers is giving us the strength to go on. We must start from our own actions. What should we do? We need to appreciate what we receive and give back in return. That is the most important of all.”

To thank the foundation, Bao has written a song called “One Kind of Love”. "Believe in God and believe that the Tzu Chi will support and care for us,” he said. "I have learnt a great deal from the volunteers. I understand that, regardless of your religion, you can overcome differences of faith and ethnic background when you give selflessly.” Through this song, Bao and his fellow villagers at Changzhi express their appreciation and look forward to a happy future in their new home.
